IMAGE PROCESSING

Abstract:
This paper deals with the process of Face detection and recognition, one of the Image Processing applications. Image processing is a physical process that is used to fetch input in the form of images (photographs and video frames) and present an output which may be either an image or a set of characteristics or parameters related to the original image. Spatial Domain Image processing (SDPI) and Frequency Domain Image processing (FDPI) are two methods of Image processing.
SDPI involves direct processing of the given input image pixel array and FDPI involves Fourier and Inverse Fourier Transform methods.

Image processing is a promising area in the field of Robotics and it is very much useful in Face Detection, Computer Vision, Raster Operations, and so on. Facial recognition is very vital in preventing terrorism, where infrared illuminators and cameras provide a safe security system.
