Structural Health Monitoring of Statues Using Digital Image Processing.

Abstract:

            India, a land of culture, have large collection of monuments and sculptures. India’s tourism is greatly depend on this aesthetic values of monuments and sculptures. But many of those are losing its aesthetic value as they were left uncared. Only few of those statues are preserved safely. As it requires lot of persons may be needed if need to monitor those statues, image processing provide as a way to monitor those statues from a single source by obtaining periodic images of the statues through a camera located in the site. Our paper concerns with the image processing techniques to monitor the structural health of the statues. Thereby we can identify the health condition and save the aesthetic value of the sculptures and statues by taking necessary action.
